TOP 10

Here is a list of my top 10 favourite books I read in 2016!

01

A Court of Mist and Fury

I've heard people call A Court Of Thorns and Roses the longest prequel to A Court of Mist and Fury because for me this is when everything kick started! I LOVED every second of it and the Night Court is beautiful!

02

Empire of Storms

The second to last book in the Throne of Glass series ... Of course it was going to be HUGE!

03

Queen Of Shadows

The fourth book in the Throne of Glass series and I'm still conflicted about whether I like this more then Empire of Storms. It was FULL of action, adventure and plot twists, and the end was just WOW!

04

A Thousand Splendid Suns

This book is heart breaking and a well needed wake up call. This is a story that will definitely stick with me.

05

A Court of Thorns and Roses

ACOTAR is a loose Beauty and the Beast retelling. Beauty and the Beast is my favourite fairy tale so to have it mixed with Sarah J Maas's AMAZING writing and loveable characters was everything I could ask for. The trials from Under The Mountain gave me huge Triwizard Tornament vibes, it was so entertaining!

06

The Book Thief

This book reinforced the importance of literature for me and reminded me that something as simple as being able to read is such a privilege. It's something we don't even pay much thought to because its a basic right which unfortunately not everyone is exposed to.

07

All The Bright Places

This book is one that I'd find my self reading random sections from when I miss the characters. The main character (Theodore Finch), has a mental illness but you don't find out what it is until near the end of the book and then everything starts to make so much sense! You'd sit there remembering moments from the book in such clarity now that you know. The clues are scattered throughout the book but even then you don't realise, you just label him as 'weird' like the rest of the school and carry on with the story.

08

Looking for Alaska

My favourite John Green book by far! I loved the characters. I still remember being terrified to continue reading past the story divider 'After'. I had to take a 15 minute break to calm myself down before continuing.

09

Me Before You

For me, this book was far more then a romance, if you can even call it that. It was about being there for the ones you love, and real life struggles. It taught me that not everything happens the way you'd like it to, and that you should respect peoples decisions.

10

A Walk To Remember

A Walk To Remember is my all time favourite romantic movie, well, my only favourite romantic movie, so of course I had to pick up the book! It's such a bitter sweet story.
